Based on municipal records, Barangay Adante was once a sitio of Bacuyong, with the presence of the Ocban Creek. Adante was formerly known as Sitio Ocban, which was originated from Ocban Creek. When the said sitio was created into a separate and independent Barangay on April 21, 1965 through Provincial Board Resolution No. 96 based on Republic Act 3590, the place was then named Adante, in honor of the late Mayor Nicolas Adante, who was, at that time, a resident in the place and own the biggest land area planted with coconut trees.
